Who the L5 lounge is for (and who it's not for)

The L5 Lounge is designed for a very specific type of learner.
Here’s who it’s perfect for, and who should choose something else.

This is for you if...

  • You’re a pilot or air traffic controller 
  • You’re currently ICAO Level 4 and want to reach Level 5
  • You want a clear routine: lessons + practice + support 
  • You’re busy, and need something flexible that fits around shifts and rosters

This is NOT for you if...

  • You’ve got an ICAO ELP test next month and you need urgent preparation.  (You’ll need an intensive course.)
  • You’re below Level 4. 
  • You want technical RT/phraseology training.

The L5 Lounge is designed as a long-term membership, not an intensive course with a fixed start and end date.

You can join anytime, stay for as long as you need, and leave whenever you feel ready
(whether that’s when you reach Level 5 or when you simply want to move on).

About your instructor

Hello, I’m Nikki, and I’ve had the pleasure of helping people improve their English for over 20 years.

My aviation English story is really just me following two long-term obsessions: languages and aviation.  Back in 2002, my love of languages brought me from the UK to Spain, and I quickly found myself right at home in the world of language education. After several years running my own language school and working as a Cambridge English Examiner, I was lucky enough to combine my language background with my enthusiasm for aviation when I became an Aviation English Examiner at a well-known flight school in Jerez, Spain.  That mix of teaching, examining, and working with aviation professionals is what eventually led me to create AV8 English, a space dedicated to helping pilots and air traffic controllers build the real-world English they need to feel confident at work and succeed in ICAO English exams (especially that jump from Level 4 to Level 5).    

I’m still a language nerd at heart, so when I’m not teaching you’ll usually find me studying Korean (slowly!), and dreaming about where I can travel next. And yes, I’m working towards a future where I can combine aviation, languages, and travel… because who says you can’t teach from anywhere in the world?

The L5 Lounge is a monthly membership. You can join anytime, use what you need (live classes, self-study library, community), and stay for as long as it helps you.

Both. Everything is taught in an aviation context and works for pilots and ATCOs.

Yes. Every live class is recorded, so you can catch up whenever you have time.

The day and time rotates to give people in different time zones and shift patterns the best chance to attend live.  A schedule will be established in advance and published in the community.

This membership is designed for people who are already at ICAO Level 4 and want to move up to Level 5. If you’re below Level 4, contact me and I’ll point you towards the best next step.

If your test is very soon, you’ll usually get better results with an intensive 1:1 plan. Message me and we’ll decide the best option for your deadline.
